saddle away efficiently
Identify the parts of a saddle
Understand how a saddle is supposed
to fit both the horse and rider
Have an understanding of the
types of bits, their use and fitting them to the horse properly

and punishment with horses

8 at a walk and jog
Drop and gather the stirrups

Ride with no stirrups at a walk
and jog
Ride bareback at a walk and jog,
maintaining control and balance
Back a horse
Learn the keys to a successful
trail ride
Lunge a horse successfully

Understand what a lope is
Understand what leads are and
what is the correct lead
Can cue a horse properly for
the lope
Sit the lope both on the rail
and in the circle maintaining control and balance
Perform a figure 8 at the lope

Ride the lope without stirrups
